Dear Colleague(s),
Following last year’s outstanding academic exchange, it is with great pleasure
that we announce the 2nd Symposium on Systems Research in the Arts and
Humanities: “On Interaction/ interactivity in Music, Design, Visual and
Performing Arts”, an interdisciplinary event to be held again in Baden-Baden,
Germany in July 24-30, 2008, as part of the forthcoming IIAS InterSymp2008.
On behalf of the IIAS InterSymp2008 Conference Chairman Prof. George Lasker and
our SRAH Symposium Organising/Chairing Team (Dr John Dack and Dr Mine D Dack
from Middlesex University, and myself), may I take this opportunity to
personally invite you to participate in our upcoming research forum this
summer.
Following the success established by previous annually held symposia, we are
pleased to invite you to submit a paper proposal for a 30-minute presentation
plus 15-minute discussion, according to one of the following formats: academic
research paper, creative writing essay, report on practice-based work,
performance, and/or workshop. Commendations and proposals for the construction
and chairing of complete sessions are also welcomed, at your discretion, thus
bringing together more colleagues and research work to our
discussions/“round-tables”.
My conference colleagues and I would also be extremely grateful if you could
please kindly help to divulge the symposium at your institution, or where and
how you believe more appropriate. We thank you in advance for your help and
consideration.
If you do wish to help us and/or participate again in the 2008 Symposium on
Systems Research in the Arts and Humanities, you are welcomed to visit the IIAS
home page at http://www.iias.edu for further details. Or if you prefer, please
