MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Bursaries for the Sheffield 2008 Conference
Applications for a number of bursaries are invited from postgraduate
students in Great Britain and Ireland registered on courses relevant to the
interests of the AHGBI.
The bursaries are to enable postgraduates working in any area of
Hispanic/Lusophone studies to attend the annual conference of the
Association. They are intended to cover reasonable travel costs from
English, Irish, Scottish or Welsh institutions, and part or all of the cost
of accommodation and meals at the conference. The membership fee for
bursary holders who are not already members of the Association will be
waived for one year.
Priority will be given to applicants offering a paper or organizing a panel.
The Association intends to offer three full bursaries this year. However,
it may offer part-bursaries in place of one or more of three full bursaries.
Successful applicants will be asked to help in preparations for and in the
day-to-day running of the conference.
The deadline for applications is Friday 22 February 2008.
The application form, which includes a request for a supervisor’s
reference, should be sent by electronic attachment only to Professor Andrew
Ginger (University of Stirling): [log in to unmask]
A sub-committee will review the applications following the deadline.
