I was not aware that 1 January was associated with Mary. Presumably, the "medievally" in
the second sentence presupposes a "post-medieval" circumstance for the day's association
with the "Mother of God"? Can you (or anyone else) clarify this further?
Happy 2008, the 400th anniversary of Quebec City (making it *almost* a medieval city)!
