Suggestions so far seem rather parochial, so can I also add (following Bill
Johnson's National Geographic suggestion), the Bradford Washburn maps of
either/or the Grand Canyon and Everest (also published by NG). There must
also be something worthwhile among all that planetary mapping from
NASA/USGS, such as the large-scale airbrush relief maps of the Moon from
the 1960s.
