I think Nicole has already done that in response to my question.
Thanks Nicole, I realise it was rather cheeky to post the question and
was unsure whether to do it or what the reply would be - thankyou for
being so frank.
As Nicole said:
"For the Classic Athens contract (JISC Eduserv Shedule 3), JISC has
paid the following:
2004 / 05 619225
2005 / 06 627450
2006 / 07 646250
2007 / 08 658000
In addition, for the Federation Gateways Service (JISC Eduserv Scehdule
5), JISC has paid the following:
2005 / 06 227000
2006 / 07 146000
2007 / 08 148000
JISC made Eduserv an offer for the Federation Gateway Services alone
that was very close to the costs paid for the Gateways for 2007 / 08."
From which we can assume that JISC were offering Eduserv somewhere in
the £150K region.
This represents a drop in income to Eduserv of £650K - I'm rather
staggered that this whole thing has gone as far as it has. Surely the
amount that was being offered has been on the table between JISC and
Eduserv for some time?

Well my rather random prediction yesterday was that Eduserv were in the
running to take over £1Million from the community, that's if all 168 HE
bodies and just 140 in bands D to F FE colleges joined (taken from the
JISC banding site). I don't know how many institutions are current
Athens members but if you go to the MyAthens "WAYF" and search for
university and then college there are 195 of the former and 490 of the
latter. The income could be much bigger - no doubt the spreadsheet
exists at Eduserv HQ.....
