Dear William
Greetings and thanks for forwarding to me the call for
papers. I am working on something and will be
submitting my paper in due course.
In the meantime can I ask for you kind help - to
please circulate to people and institutions within our
network that you think can assist with funding for
preparatory activities of setting up a training center
in Zimbabwe that will empower young people with
production and business skills. Zimbabwe, you may be
aware, has an alarming rate of unemployment - at 85% -
amid rapid shrinking of the entire employing industry.
These preparatory works involve conducting a
situational analysis research to inform the specific
components of the training center's design as well as
to get the input of local stakeholders regarding the
priorities of their area's development and modalities
of running the center with their maximum
participation.
Young Africa Youth Asociation, the solicitoir of the
funds, have already secured an 8 hectare plote of land
from the relevant rural district council for this
purpose and is seeking funding from other sources to
fully set up the center.
I am willing and ready to prepare and send a detailed
concept note and/or proposal if any potential funders
express interest in financing the project. I hope I
have not made a mistake in asking for your assistance
and please advise me if my request is grantable. But
I will appreciate whichever support you will give.
Thank you and kind regards,
Kudzai Makoni, Technical Advisor - Young Africa Youth
Association, Zimbabwe
