We often hear of inappropriate requests to the emergency services, but here is a phone call received by our reception staff last Friday!
Enquirer...' does your lab deal with enzymes'. On an affirmative reply, the next question was 'I have 2 pineapples and a joint of pork, and want to use the papain to tenderise the pork. At what temperature do I need to marinade them and can I do it in a slow cooker?
I always knew that Clincial Biochemistry labs had expert knowledge in a wide range of areas, but this one was beyond our expertise!
