I think you are probably referring to the following passage on page 8:
"Every medieval church was an evocation of the heavenly Jerusalem, the abode
of the saved to be established after the completion of the Last Judgment
(Revelation, chapters 21 and 23). That this was the primary meaning of
church buildings is clear from the service for their consecration, where
frequent allusions are made to St John's vision."
(The primary defect of Wilson's book is that it lacks references, having
only a Select Bibliography - another is that the Index is only of "persons
and works", which makes looking for "heavenly Jerusalem" a bit tricky!)
I think "frequent allusions" is over-egging it a bit - there plenty of
allusions to Jerusalem rather than the heavenly Jerusalem. Pinning down all
references to Revelation would require closely examining all the "various
collects, psalms, anthems, benedictions, &c.,"
