Canadian Council on Learning Co-hosts Campbell Collaboration Colloquium May 12-14, 2008 


The 2008 Campbell Collaboration (C2) Colloquium is co-hosted and coordinated by the Canadian Council on Learning; the Province of British Columbia; the Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network and the Norwegian Knowledge Centre for the Health Services.  


The Campbell Collaboration


The Campbell Collaboration (C2) is an independent, international, non-profit organization that strives to provide decision-makers with evidence-based information to empower them to make well-informed decisions about the effects of interventions in the social, behavioural and educational arenas.

The Coordinating Committee is pleased to invite you to the 2008 Campbell Collaboration (C2) Colloquium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from May 12 to 14, 2008. 

The theme of the 2008 Colloquium is Speaking Truth to Power: Evidence for Decisions in Education, Social Welfare, and Criminal Justice. 

The Coordinating Committee is striving for a Colloquium that: 

*	engages participants intellectually throughout the colloquium; 
*	creates excitement about the usefulness of systematic reviews of evidence for decision-making purposes; 
*	fosters an appreciation of the respective perspectives of decision-makers and investigators; 
*	is a forum for the exchange of knowledge about evidence for education, social welfare and criminal justice; and 
*	is perceived as having provided participants with significant values for their investment of time and other resources.

Call for submissions


The Eighth Annual International Campbell Collaboration Colloquium seeks submissions related to the theme "Speaking Truth to Power: Evidence for Decisions in Education, Social Welfare and Criminal Justice" from researchers, policy makers, and practitioners.

Le colloque 2008 de la Campbell Collaboration (C2) est coorganisé et coordonné par le CCA, la province de la Colombie-Britannique, le Réseau canadien de recherche sur le langage et l'alphabétisation et le Centre norvégien de connaissances pour les services de santé.

La Campbell Collaboration (C2) est une organisation internationale indépendante à but non lucratif dont le mandat est de fournir aux décideurs de l'information fondée sur des données probantes portant sur les effets d'interventions dans les domaines social, comportemental et éducatif afin de leur donner les outils nécessaires pour prendre des décisions éclairées.

Le thème du colloque 2008 porte sur les données probantes permettant de prendre des décisions en matière d'éducation, de bien-être social et de justice pénale (Speaking Truth to Power: Evidence for Decisions in Education, Social Welfare, and Criminal Justice). Le comité de coordination souhaite ardemment que le colloque :

*	suscite la réflexion chez les participants; 
*	stimule l'intérêt au sujet de l'utilité des examens systématiques de données probantes à des fins de prises de décision; 
*	favorise la compréhension des différentes perspectives des décideurs et des investigateurs; 
*	tienne lieu de forum d'échange de connaissances concernant les données probantes en éducation, en bien-être social et en justice pénale; 
*	soit perçu par les participants comme un investissement rentable en temps et en ressources.

Invitation à soumettre des propositions


 Le huitième colloque annuel international de la Campbell Collaboration souhaite recevoir des propositions de la part de chercheurs, de décideurs et d'intervenants reliées au thème Speaking Truth to Power: Evidence for Decisions in Education, Social Welfare, and Criminal Justice (données probantes permettant de prendre des décisions en matière d'éducation, de bien-être social et de justice pénale).

Date limite de soumission des propositions : le 14 janvier 2008.
