medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
A quick search of art-roman.net (Orcival and St-Nectaire) netted a gilded Throne of Wisdom and a painted one:

The latter was painted in the 15th c. and the colors may have been dictated by the colors usually used for French royalty, especially since Mary is covered with fleurs-de-lis. Blue shows up a lot in illuminated mss., usually on the bodies of aristos.
