Trefor,
when the question of revalidation first came up, this same question was
asked - particularly in regard to two groups:-
GPs qualified and registered in the UK but working in the EU, and EU
registered GPs who have a right to have their EU training recognised,
and hence have the *right* to work as GPs in the UK.
Do you know how the reciprocal EU arrangements will work?
If even the requirement that doctors working as GPs in the UK have to be
on a performers list was applied, wouldn't OOH companies employing
German GPs on a shift basis be in staffing and legal difficulties?
Or does revalidation only apply to GPs who are normally resident? Work
for more than x% of their time? Do not have any qualifications which
have to be recognised under EU regulations?
I suppose the answer may well be that if you are an employee,
revalidation and fitness to practice will be managed by your employer -
and not by the GMC at all!

PS how are EU GPs appraised at the moment, and how *do* they get on a
performers list?
It takes a new partner over 3 months...
