I think the trick is to get Canada and Australia to join the EU. That way,
they can practice as GPs in the UK even if their training involves no
gynaecology or paediatrics, like the Italians.

What is the right word for this incredible arrogance about UK GP? This
conviction, up top, that no-one working anywhere else can possibly cop on to
it fast enough to just get in there and do it? Or can possibly take a year
out---sabbaticals, anyone??????---and come back to work??
Time was when the Canucks were difficult about letting in foreigners--it
looks like the situation is now reversed.
I am not the only one here, I am sure, of the opinion that Canadian and
Australian GPs are at least as good as their UK brethren.

<<Apparently, unless you are not doing an average of 1 session per week
over
a 6 (or 9)month period in any 12 (or 18) months, then you can not have an
appraisal.
If you do not have an appraisal in any 18 (or 24) month period, you have to
be removed from the performers list thus cannot practice in the UK.>>
