medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
This is EXTREMELY interesting, particularly the consistency betwen GT and Justin.
Still, what are the possibilities that there was some sort of metaphor or theological subtext?
I seem to recall that ProtoEvangelium of James was in circulation by mid 2nd C. (or am I confuzzing it with something else?) but it contains some material of
questionable historical value
