I've thought of using descriptives like: "era when builders attempted to emulate Roman buildings and evolved vaulted ceilings, etc." and "period of further
development resulting from technological and scientific advances originating in France and spreading gradually throughout Europe."
Maybe they could be shortened to "Roman-like" and "Not Quite So Roman-like" but that lacks a poetic flair.
So, I'm thinking "Roman-esque" and something that evokes Europe's non-Roman past. . . . maybe name it after an ancient tribe associated with Gaul. . .
hmmm . . .
Drawing a blank there - any suggestions?
