medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
"This Christian edifice, among the oldest in France (Vth Century) has undergone numerous alterations and enlargements over the course of time. It has, nevertheless retained the form of a basilica with its great, solidly built nave. The XIIth Century bell tower also survives."
This is the blurb on St-Pierre-de-Vienne, one of the purest and most marvelously preserved of Romanesque in France IMO. May I ask why you classify it as 15th-c.? Don't wish to sound argumentative, but I didn't think they built like that in 15th c.
Thanks,
MG
