Dear All,
A reminder of this year's British Geophysical Association
"New Advances in Geophysics" conference, on Thursday 7th and
Friday 8th February 2008 at the Geological Society,
Burlington House, entitled "Geophysics of Global
Climate Change".
I'm hoping for some contributions from people in the tectonics
field who are working on the distinction between tectonic and
climate signatures in basin history, etc.
Please don't forget the deadline of 12th January for
abstracts and for the early registration fee (after that
date, the fees go up by 50%).
The aim of the meeting is to bring together the diverse strands
of geophysical research into climate change.
The annual William Bullerwell lecture will be given on
Thursday 7th (time t.b.c., probably 4.45 pm) by Prof.
Tavi Murray, University of Swansea. Admission to that
lecture is free.
Guest speakers:
Dr. Jim Hansen, NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies
Dr. Heiko Pa"like, NOC, Southampton
Prof. Vincent Courtillot, IPG, Paris
Dr. David Pyle, Oxford
Dr. Mark Siddall, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory
Prof. Paul Wilson, NOC, Southampton
Abstracts for talks (20-minute slots) and posters should be submitted
via the meeting website,
http://www.personal.soton.ac.uk/~heiko/NAG2008/NAG2008.html
Registration fees can be paid online via the British Geophysical Association
website, http://www.geophysics.org.uk - go to "Meetings and Events" and
follow the link to the payment instructions.
