medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
On the other hand, if you Telnet into the library of the Central
Bodleian, at Oxford, <telnet://library.ox.ac.uk> you will find that the
Bodleian thought your books worthy to grace its hallowed shelves. In
fact, they have all three of them! One wonders if your former Dean has
any books of his in the Bodleian.

For promotion to full prof, one's work had to be reviewed by at least 3 pooh-bahs from external "prestigious" universities. Turns out the top scholar in my field, who had reviewed my book for a most prestigious journal, was at a university deemed "insufficiently prestigious" by the dean. It didn't help that the dean was a moron and knew very well I thought so. I wasn't very good at an activity for which this list would not appreciate the slang expression. But you know what I mean :-)))
