Thanks for your thorough response to ny corrective missive. I think the wonder of Deleuze is there are many ways to understand his work. I do not agree with your reading of the BwO and do feel that whether intende or not it is possible to draw correlations to your initial comments on surface-depth. I would disagree that the BwO is a resting point between two stages, because to assume this imlies that there are indeed fix points along the line of becoming, a point against which Deleuze strongly argues.
Likewise I would suggest that the intention of Deleuze's critique of Carroll is not to undermine or poke fun but to force us to look below the surface of what seems to be a work of childish fiction...much as he does with his reading of Kafka, although in a different direction..
In any event the lbeauty of Deleuze is that he forces us to reexmaine and as such is iopen to many readings. We disagree, but that does not mean we cannot be friends!
