Research Statistician/Epidemiologist
(Full Time)
We are seeking a research statistician/epidemiologist to join the
Paediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet), a national clinical
audit of paediatric intensive care based at the Paediatric Epidemiology
Group (PEG) and the University of Leicester. The post-holder will work
with the team who deal with data returns, validation, routine reporting and
IT development. The primary function of the post will be to analyse
existing data, develop analytical methods, and, together with clinical and
academic colleagues, provide collaborative support for use of the data in
audit, research and clinical trials. The post will involve contributions
to the production of reports to sponsors and national bodies.
With effective interpersonal and communication skills, you will have a
degree in statistics or related numerate discipline with a substantial
statistical element or equivalent experience. Excellent time management
skills and the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines are
required for the role.
PICANet has been established since 2001, and this is an exciting
opportunity to join a project that holds a large high quality clinical
dataset on children admitted to intensive care in Great Britain.
The post is available for a fixed term of 12 months (with the possibility
of extension dependent on funding). While the post is based on the
University of Leeds campus, visits to other organisations will be required
