Senior Statistician (Ref: SBStat 11/07)
The Medical Genomics Group headed by Professor Stephan Beck is seeking a
Senior Statistician to start as soon as possible.
Using experimental and computational approaches, the group has a broad
interest in the identification and characterization of genetic and
epigenetic mechanisms involved in differentiation, epistasis and disease,
particularly the pathogenesis of cancer. Central to this aim is the
application and further development of an integrated systems approach for
‘reverse phenotyping’ which is expected to significantly increase our
ability to detect combinatorial genetic and epigenetic variations, causing
or contributing to cancer and other complex disease phenotypes.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD or equivalent degree, several years of
postdoctoral experience, a strong publication record and a proven history
of project leadership in biomedical statistics. You will lead the design
of multi-dimensional disease studies and drive the development of novel
statistical models for (epi)genetic data analysis. Within the Cancer
Institute and UCL, there are excellent opportunities for interaction with
leading researchers in the field. The post is funded for an initial period
of 3 years.
Salary will be on the University Grade 9, (£44,074-£48,161) + £2572 London
Allowance. Appointments will normally be made to the bottom point of this
range.
