Education (FILE) Course

Dear Colleagues,
NLH is pleased to be able to sponsor 4 of the 12 places on the London Health
Libraries Learner Support six day FILE: Facilitating Information Literacy
Education course. (See attached flyer for details). The course is validated
by London Metropolitan University as a post-graduate module of 20 credits.
The NLH places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If
they are oversubscribed your explanation of why you would like to do the
course will be taken into account by myself and Liz Osborne, (Chair of the
London Learner Support Steering Group) before places are finally allocated.
Before talking to your manager about attending, please be aware that all
applicants must be able to:
a.. attend all six sessions
b.. actively participate in a small group of 12 people
c.. take part in a group presentation in session three, give an individual
presentation in session five and deliver a short training session in session
six
d.. complete the assessed portfolio
e.. share the learning and teaching resources they produce during the
course with a wider audience via a dedicated web site

Management, London Metropolitan University
Venue: London Metropolitan University, Ladbroke House, (Highbury and
Islington railway station and Tube)
Dates: 16 January, 30 January, 20 February, 5 March, 19 March, 2 April 2008
If you would like to attend this event please complete the booking form
attached and return it to me by Monday 5 November. The course is free to
all healthcare staff working for or with the NHS in England.
