Environmental Education Program Evaluation. This position will be an
85% position for one year. The fellow will be responsible for
designing and implementing two environmental education program
evaluations under the supervision of Dr. Michaela Zint, Associate
Professor of Environmental Education & Communication. The first
evaluation will seek to assess the extent to which a website designed
to assist environmental educators with evaluating their programs is
accomplishing this goal. As part of this evaluation, the fellow will
work closely with five environmental educators as they undertake an
evaluation of their own programs using the website. The fellow will
produce a publishable article synthesizing results from these five case
studies. The second project will consist of an external evaluation of
up to 25 environmental education programs. These programs were funded
by a federal agency to help children build meaningful and lasting
connections with nature in response to Richard Louv’s Last Child in the
Woods – Saving Our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder. The fellow
will identify outcomes to evaluate, design instruments to collect data
on these outcomes, analyze data, and produce a publishable article
synthesizing results from this evaluation. The fellow will work with

results. The fellow’s work is expected to lead to at least two
