Hello, I agree it does look like a fused distal/third phalange of an
ovicaprid. Being only 3cm, I would guess pig or sheep/goat. Either that, or
a strange equine indeed! or perhaps camel? if it is Roman, keep in mind the
Romans were known to have imported camels into Europe.
