medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I too was struck by the resemblance to images of
Christ. But either on this list or med-art, there was
a well-attested image of Saint Matthew (I believe)
with a clear and distinct cruciform nimbus. It just
happens sometimes...
I was intrigued by the figure on the right in the
image, to J's left. It looks vaguely like a woman
wearing a sacerdotal stole. (And I'm not trying to
stir up a fight here. Just curious...)
