medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear listmembers:
I am studying a Romanesque Church in which there is an intriguing capital:
http://picasaweb.google.es/TUIVERDE/Capital/photo#5106419875913035410
As you can see, on one of the smallest sides, there is a man (a
priest?) holding a book. Then, the sculptor carved a horseman who
apparently is blowing a horn. Finally, another man is shown holding
two birds (a reference to the pigeon offered to the Temple?)
Any of you knows of any similar scene? Any idea would be welcome!
