You are right, well almost. :) It depends where you have installed sge. I
put it into /opt/SGE, so I had to create a simbolic link to
/usr/local/sge , which points to the real place, /opt/SGE.

Exactly! Use command qconf -aq QUEUENAME
where QUEUENAME is veryshort.q, short.q, long.q, verylong.q and there is
the place to define many parameters for the queues, and one of them is
processors. You can use the parameters mentioned in this thread as lead.
