re accountants and other office workers working office hours
<<Because these professionals don't profess to offer urgent access, or
if they do would charge a premium for it?>>
More like, they charge for us seeing them anyway, anytime and have a
good grip on the market. Or maybe it is just that most of them insist on
decent working conditions and a bit of mutual respect between client and
professional?
<<<But the limited working hours of hospitals are shameful, and
seriously reduce our efficiency when consulting after 4.00 or over midday.>>
I misread that as banks but yes, hospital office hours are a disgrace.
Quite often it is after 5 before I get peace to pick up the phone and of
course they're all away home by then.
<<<There is one group who are given statutory employment protection if
they take time off work to get healthcare: women for antenatal care.
Is there a healthier group of patients?>>>
So the question becomes, how on earth did they manage that? Was there a
campaign? Did someone manage to slip it in, under cover of other
legislation? Did it come from those Euro wets? Does anyone know?
Because maybe it should be extended.
