Just to point out that the more resources a society/class/cast accumulates,
the more hedonistic, epicurean conceptions about life they develop within
the culture. Pain for people whose cognitive capabilities has been cushioned
to own their destinies is something that can and should be avoided at all
cost. Within such episteme, pain is an impairment. The opposite term:
pleasure, or a middle term =nopain, are stages of desired 'normality', an
ideology that is imposes. If this is true, pain is no doubt a category
constructed similarly as the more 'visible' disabilitie. Best, Andy
