I share Ray's coently worded reservations.

Indeed so -- especially for our resident Asian population!
I can see many of them wanting to "go to ground" one way or another
(avoiding making a Census return, making false returns, changing
their names, ... ) if they feared that the US Secret Service might
get a complete list of their names and addresses. I'm talking about
completely innocent ordinary-living citizens here. Any who may be
involved in dodgy activities will have their own ways of disappearing
into long grass.
Regarding John Whittington's query, of the two short-listed potential
contractors, the other is T-Systems International, a subsidiary of
Deutsche Telecom. Information on what they might offer in the domain
of Public Sector and Government Administration can be found at

Regarding Lockheed Martin, I see from the logo on
http://www.lockheedmartin.com
that "We never forget who we're working for".
To find their relevance to implementation of the Census, you have
to start from the above page as follows:
--> Products / By Capability
This leads you to a "Products by Capability List", which is worth
skimming through in its own right ...
Scroll down to

* E-Government
On this front, I think they look a bit noddy compared with T-Systems!
Of course, they may also be doing a lot of stuff they don't mention
on their web-page.
Hmmm
Ted.
