£18,954 - £21,315 p.a., final salary pension scheme. Permanent post.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Human Osteologist to join our
current team. Reporting to the Head of Osteology and working closely with the
client teams, you will contribute to and develop understanding of the past
through the identification, assessment, recording, analysis, interpretation and
reporting of human remains.
The successful candidate must have a degree in Archaeology or a related subject
and post-graduate qualification in Osteology or a related subject. Candidates
with a demonstrable background in Osteology will also be considered. Proven
ability in the analysis of human remains, knowledge of current legislation and
guidelines are essential. A good general knowledge of British Archaeology and
expertise of working in a commercial environment would be an advantage, as
would commercial excavation skills. The successful candidate will be able to
work rapidly and accurately under pressure to agreed timescales and budgets.
Good IT literacy and written and oral communication skills are required, as is
the ability to work well within a team and independently, and a willingness to
learn. Training will be provided in the use of the MoLAS database and
production of client reports as required. The successful candidate will play a
role in the development of the section and independent research interests will
be encouraged.
