That is a possibility. But surely by trying to bury statistics the
Government would be giving emphasis to the importance of statistics?
That might *increase* trust in statistics rather than reduce trust as the
RSS alleges.
Isn't there a contradiction in the RSS position? If the public are
gullible enough to be deceived by pre-release, why might gullibility be the
cause of distrust in official statistics?
