No actual knowledge, but see Archive Issue 2 where there is an article
entitled "Presteigne Coal Trials" by David Bick. 27-31 (summary apparently
" Aaron Griffiths of Willey Lodge acquired Folly Farm in 1911: photographs
of subsequent boring and drift mining (but there was no coal)")
See http://www.lightmoor.co.uk/archive.htm and specifically

Subject: Coal Mining in Radnorshire
Can anyone please confirm the existence of the following coal mine:-
Folly Park Colliery, Presteign in Radnorshire, Not working in 1915.
Surely that is well north of the South-Wales coalfield. Was it an outlier
of Coal Measures or a Limestone Coal?
Regards,
Mike Gill
