my rusty memory is that there is some evidence to suggest that one of the
figures on Claus Slutter's "Well of Moses" (c. 1400, at the Chartreuse de
Champmol, near Dijon)

i don't know whether the evidence for this assertion is archeological or
textual (*lots* of reconds surviving for artwork commissioned by the Dukes of
Burgundy), only that i read it 35+ years ago in some secondary work on
Slutter.
