medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I would like to ask two citation questions, and hopefully
not cause too much debate on the topic.
First, is there a standard way for citing Gratian's Decretum?
The second is a bit more complicated.
How do I cite an author when his name is written differently
according the language of the publication. For example, in
three different articles in three different journals the
same author appears under the name: Cebria Baraut, Cipriano
Baraut, and Cabriria Baraut. Another example would be
Ernesto Pascual, Ernesto Zaragoza Pascual, and Ernesto
Zaragoza i Pascual.
Do I use the original name in each publication, or do I
standardize the name in footnotes and the bibliography? My
concerns are the problems of splitting the same author in
the alphabetical listing in the bibliography and that
readers might think this is a different author with the same
last name.
Thank you for any help, Daniel Gullo
