Sue,
We have our students submit their work directly to Turnitin (and also in
hardcopy to our School technician) and it works quite well. There are
occasional minor problems but they are usually very easy to sort.
What we've done is write a one-page tutorial guide for students on
accessing the system and lecturers give this to students along with the
appropriate login information for each module.
