Dear All,
We are doing some research on the adequacy of published descriptions of
treatments used in controlled trials. We've found some worrying missing
information, but we have been asked about whether these missing elements
have prevented uptake of an intervention. Do you know of specific
examples that document this as a problem?
One example we have is a graded exercise program for chronic fatigue:
Wallman KE, Morton AR, Goodman C, et al. Randomised controlled trial of
graded exercise in chronic fatigue syndrome. Med J Aust 2004; 180: 444-448.
which left out details and a subsequent publication filled in the blanks:
Exercise prescription for individuals with chronic fatigue syndrome. MJA
2005; 183 (3): 142-143
Many thanks for suggestions,
--
