Events for summer 2007
Advanced Problem Solving - Wednesday 12th June 2007
In the workplace we are presented daily with issues that require robust
problem solving and decision making skills and often it can seem difficult
to know where to start in analysing the situation. This is a one day course
introducing innovative tools for problem solving, and decision making.
This course will teach you some of the best techniques for analytical
problem solving and will give you the confidence to work effectively and
efficiently with any situation you may find yourself tackling in the
workplace.
Running Effective Focus Groups – Wednesday 27th June 2007
Qualitative evaluation is often considered the poor relative of quantitative
evaluation – and yet using only quantitative data can omit information that
might otherwise be overlooked. Not only can qualitative evaluation be less
prescriptive, it also holds the potential for proactive development of a
product or service that a more focused quantitative approach might miss.
Focus groups are an excellent and efficient way of capturing high-quality
qualitative data and are a lot simpler to put together and run than often
thought. This workshop will guide you through the basics of putting together
and running a focus group, together with tips on simple data analysis and
marketing the idea to participants and sponsors alike.
How to Design and Run Great Workshops or Trainings – Tuesday 3rd July 2007
Not everyone is a ‘born trainer’, yet many of us have to run workshops or
trainings as part of our role. While there are many ‘presentation skills’
trainings available, the design factor is often overlooked – and yet that is
the most significant factor in the success of any course; and in the success
of any facilitator or trainer.
Designed specifically for non-trainers, this course will take you through
the simple steps to designing a strong, easy-to-run, enjoyable and – most
importantly – highly successful workshop or training, no matter what your
experience or personal style.
All sessions are held at the University of Central England, Birmingham
(Perry Barr campus)
Each course costs £175 (inc VAT)
