Lecturers in Quantitative Biology and Applied Statistics
These appointments are full-time, permanent and start on 1 September 2007
Grade 7 - £30,913 to £41,545 per annum, pay award pending
We are seeking outstanding candidates for two new Lectureships in
Quantitative Biology and Applied Statistics to contribute to teaching on
our Statistics degrees and to develop quantitative research interests
applicable to Biological Sciences
Successful candidates will be expected to make significant contributions to
the section's teaching and research activities
You will have:
• a formal statistical qualification (PhD/MSc) or a track record of
research addressing a statistical topic
• Wide knowledge of statistics with knowledge of a biological area or with
enthusiasm to develop expertise in quantitative biology
• some teaching experience and the ability to relate to students
• ambition to produce research output, generate research income and be an
effective research collaborator
It is desirable to have experience in a biological research environment if
trained as a statistician or vice-versa.
