Thanks for this informative message .. I would like at some point in the
future to get my hands on the details of Prof Coleman's procedure...
As a Statistician I have no personal problem in providing estimates (under
clearly stated assumptions) of UK population in terms of Racial origin;
these estimates are clearly of importance to some sections of the UK
population (around 15% at least I would say). Whether such interest on
their part is - shall we say- 'moral' or any other adjective you like,
(jumping ahead a little..) is, or should not be, the concern of the
Statistican. Since I'm not a UK resident, I don't fear any official (or
other) sanction. Dissemination of results presents no problem these days.
I am concerned with every one of the topics in your message; whether
RADStats is a viable discussion area for these topics remains to be seen.
