Dear all
I am in need of a quick answer to this query and would be very grateful for your assistance. My query can be sub-divided as follows. Could you please recommend:
1) a suitable choice of statistic for comparing median survival times across a case and control group in separate studies in preparation for combining these statistics when performing a meta-analysis;
2) given a solution to 1), the appropriate way to proceed in defining a correction term to include in a weight formula so as to account for study heterogeneity when combining comparison statistics for medians.
By way of clarification, there is only one median survival time per group in each study.
Any useful references would also be appreciated here.
Many thanks
Best wishes
Margaret
