Hi zooarchers,
This is my first post on this list so I hope this goes through ok. I'm currently examining a very small collection (NISP: 70) of cattle remains from a larger assemblage from a site in Cambridgeshire. They were recovered from a late Neolithic/ early Bronze age well adjacent to huge mound of burnt/worked flint. The assemblage is almost all meat bearing long bones and skull/horncore fragments. However, they haven't been disarticulated at the joints but instead have been chopped midshaft (possibly to access the marrow for tanning given the well/burnt flint etc?). I would be very grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of any similar assemblages for comparisons?
Thanks,
Chris Faine
