Yes, there are many simple "engineering problems", but I think we need
to focus here on /engineering design/ problems. And I don't think there
are any simple /engineering design/ problems.
(Please recall that I and most of my engineering colleagues would /not/
consider things like configuring a gear box, no matter how complex it
might be, as design problems.)
