I have always advised the individual to go to the GP's surgery to see the report rather than asking for it to be sent to them. Otherwise the GP could charge them for admin costs in theory. But I've never heard of them charging just to look at the report. In any case, is this now not academic, because the GP can release the report without the patient's viewing it after 21 days.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] medical report
Hello All
First thanks for the feedback on my last query.
I would be interested in the general opinion of the following:
I requested a medical report from a GP 9 weeks ago and am still waiting.
The individual concerned had indicated that she wanted to see the report
before it was sent on the consent form.
She has just been in to see me and show me a letter she has had from the GP
saying the report was ready for her to see and she must pay £10 for the
privledge.
I accept that the GP can charge me (the company) for the report but have
never come across this extra charge before.
Has anyone else heard of this? Is this common?
Thanks in anticipation
