My personal experience is that all screens have some reflective properties
and as stated it is only in one eye. If she has trouble reading the print
type then the screen resolution can be adjusted to compensate for this.

No direct evidence but does make a lot of sence.
Full size monitors with glass screens reflect and get the paterns from
sunshine on them. The matt finish of flat screen avoids this.
Hence if she is in a room with light from a window heading onto her screen
i'm sure a glass reflective screen does not help.
However to avoid the cost a cheaper adjustment may be - getting one of those
antireflective sheets to put over monitor or by turning desk around.
