Rebecca
Her overtime places both herself, her baby, her employer and colleagues at risk. This is proven due to the fact that she has had to take sick leave due to her her fatigue.
On this basis and with H&S statute to support you fully explain this to her and report it to HR and line management. It is then a management decision if they allow her to continue to work overtime against medical advice.
Cheers

Dear list,
I would like your opinion. I have received a referral for a lady who is 7 months pregnant. She has recently had to have 2 days off sick with fatigue. She works overtime, which is her choice there is no expectation of the company for her to work overtime. As part of my risk assessment I recommended that she no longer do overtime due to the risk of fatigue and harm to herself and her baby. She now feels that she is being discriminated against.
Whilst I understand that she has financial pressures which are encouraging her to work overtime. Surely our duty is to protect the health of the individual. I would greatly appeciate your view of this situation.
Regards
