Rachel Beckett
This course is for staff who wish to review and influence their career development. Through group and individual exercises, case studies, discussion and input from the course leader we will assess where you are now, where you’d like to go and how to get there. This is an interactive session which focuses on the practical skills associated with successful career planning.
By the end of the session you will be able to:
· Identify your current skills and how you can build upon them
· Demonstrate how to structure and present successful CVs and applications
· Outline key skills for successful interviews
· Produce a personal career development plan
About the trainer: Rachel Beckett is currently Staff Training and Development Co-ordinator at University of Manchester and previously held this post at UMIST. She also has considerable experience of site library management and of subject work in HE and FE libraries. Prior to embarking on her career in libraries, Rachel spent a number of years teaching English as a foreign language abroad and in the UK.
