Speakers are available to update you on joining the UK Access Management
Federation and implementation issues including possible deployment of
Shibboleth, Microsoft ADFS and the recently launched Eduserv OpenAthens
service.
As the agenda is of interest to both Learning Resources Managers and
Technical Managers we are proposing the following content to cover both
audiences.
Presentations (Learning Resources and Technical Managers)
Mark Williams, JISC Outreach Officer will update you on developments from
the JISC perspective including the pros and cons of joining the Federation
together with discussions on the business case for Federated Access
Management.
Richard Dunning, Eduserv Support Officer will talk about the options
available including the Shibboleth or Eduserv OpenAthens routes to
implementation and will be able to answer questions on the new OpenAthens
service.
The Kidderminster College Experience
Learning Resources Managers
Graham Mason, Head of ICT will share the Kidderminster experience as an
early adopter and the session will be a mix of presentation and live
demonstrations of using the different routes of Access Management. He has
extensive knowledge and experience and has already given talks at many other
JISC events. The focus will be on Access Management for the FE sector.
Technical Managers
Technical Officer from Kidderminster will discuss in detail the technical
issues relating to the different deployment routes, highlighting strategies
for implementation and will also provide live demonstrations to show how
Kidderminster College has developed their own different solutions.
We are only able to run this event subject to a minimum level of demand so
please reserve your place asap to help us assess interest and feasibility.
