Geological Society Bicentennial Conference 10-12 September 2007
As you will be aware, the Geological Society is organising a prestigious
conference at the QEII Conference Centre in London, to celebrate its
bicentennial. The papers at the oral sessions will be from invited
speakers only. A full programme can be found at
http://www.geolsoc.org.uk/template.cfm?name=ConfProg060207
I invite you to submit posters to the session "Tectonics of the British
Isles: insights from 3D visualisation and analysis". Visualisation and
modelling systems are powerful tools increasingly used in 3D tectonic
analysis. This session welcomes examples of such analysis applied to
British and Irish tectonics; from the hydrocarbon and mining industries
e.g. applied to the analysis of 3D seismic data, onshore and offshore; in
the reconstruction and tectonic analysis of 'virtual outcrop'; and
examples from the Digital Geoscience Spatial Model Project
and 'Lithoframe' Programme of the British Geological Survey.
Please submit abstracts using the conference website
http://www.geolsoc.org.uk/template.cfm?name=Bicentenary_Conference where
full instructions are given. The submission deadline is 15 June and a
submission fee of £10 is refundable upon registration. Note that the last
date for discounted registration is 31 May. The abstract should be 500
words long and in free format (Geological Society will format). A0P is the
preferred presentation format for the poster.
Apologies for multiple postings!
