I must've gone out of the room for a diet tonic water, so I missed
this. When did I suggest I was "better than" Landis Everson or anyone?
When did "better than" become a valid criterion in discussing the merits
of two writers? Is this a locker room Whose Is Bigger deal translated
(not very far) to writing?
Everson is just another of my multiple areas of ignorance. Anyone who
won that contest would have been similarly situated, I suppose. It was
intended for the unknown, overaged, and previously unlucky. Though I
suppose a lot of people remembered Everson from back when and were
supporters. Others of us were not so fortunate.
A contest for unknowns d'un age certain was worth entering and is worth
continuing if the Foundation has the will to do so. I can always send
them a revised standard version of my manuscript.
