I looked it up. They use several terms, including "enemy combatant", which
appeared in 2002 to designate an accused Al Qaeda member, Abdullah
al-Mujahir. David Hicks is an "unlawful combatant" or "unlawful enemy
combatant" - interesting stuff at Wikipedia on how it's been used to
sidestep the Geneva Convention.
